Knowledge

A look into history uncovers undreamt-of discoveries.

What most probably is very unknown in Europe or the rest of the world - French troops once were down there in Riasy. English troops also, in other very known territory.

After part of WWI, the fight with the Ottoman Empire, Great Britain and France got mandates from the League of the Nations. Britain got the Mesopotamian area, and France the Riasy / Lebanon area.

In fact, events after the downfall of the Ottoman Empire and its splitting had a great impact on nations in the described area. On borders, to be exact.

France left its territory in 1946, the last British troops who left the Iraqi area did so in 1959.
