There's a lot which some Western perpetrators and aids should face the tribunal for... (Actually, this point is often making me question if not those people which supported that crap in media, by biased reports, by fake reports and whatnot, don't get afraid of their own fate at times because - some people will remember them taking a certain side and acting partisan for it. And when that side turns out to be the more cruler one, something in me asks: Don't you think that you may also be punished one day for aiding those crimes in your own way? What makes you so sure you're safe and it'll be always other people who will sit there in court?)
Exactly. I am writing a story about colonizing Africa by British. They treated people like hell, yet thought they were doing the right thing because they bring civilization to barbarians.
That tone pretty often shines through between the lines of those protagonists which keep making the big media reports. Like enthusiastically believing "the bad people we find here, and we and our allies bring the light to the people!". Over and over again, ironically...
