Hm, I don't know if they hold back.
I find that most of them are not aware of how things concretely work at all in their country. They're just downright helpless.
But that's nothing typically of being German; you sure are going to find that the majority of citizens in other countries are the same.

It would be helpful to understand my first language.
I write a lot of more specific stuff about German processes in my native tongue.
