I don't know if the phrase has that sort of meaning in English, I can only say that I don't and won't ever think like a native speaker of it because it simply isn't my native.

Well... Could probably be much worse, but could probably also be better. But this is not within the range of my powers anymore for a long time to change it in general to a "I'm doing fine and there's nothing to complain or worry about". As it simply can't be changed to such a state anymore. Biology stands in the way for that.

I am speaking in the way of what west bastards did with Ukraine... Ukrainian men do everything there to not get on the war — getting abroad, getting into prison, everything. So today its Ukraine, tomorrow Europe, so no matter what — old or ill, if you are not hurrying to die...
Here in Russia the situation with mobilization is not that critical but, I think, not for long... If USA will throw Turkey and EU after against Russia it will be meat grinder and I am certainly will get my vacation to hell... )))
