What a radio host once was there for: Knowing music and sending material through the airwaves of his personal preference which he thinks it could also be liked by the audience.

Hm, think this kind of "programm" only exists on the political channels around here. Otherwise, on the entertainment stations, there's nothing comparable to that what I think you mean.
But, admitting, voluntarily I don't listen to the radio, and there aren't that many huge or "quality" stations around here.
In general, the last few stations which had something like a regular weekly programm like a TV channel already mainly stopped this almost 10 years ago.
