2011: An earthquake with the magnitude of 9.0 appears under water not far from the coast of Japan.
First the quake itself devastates the area, but more importantly it triggers a tsunami wave which adds on top of this.
A nearby nuclear power plant in Fukushima was affected heavily by both and, due to human arrogance and greed that made it be constructed suitable to economical needs, but not apropriate to the needs of a facility that stands on a cliff coast of a volcanic island, a meltdown appeared during the following days.
400.000 people in estimated numbers had to leave their homes and be evacuated in the zone set by the state around the power plant.
The state of Japan, being located where it is, hung on a thin thread depending on the outcome of the acute actions made to meet this disaster.

Still until this very day, the consequences out of this event keep the authorities busy.

Erinnerung

2022: Russia starts an endeavor that Western sources prophesied about for months and which some sympathizers of it say it was inevitable for 8 years already - the Russian Federation invades the former Eastern territories of Ukraine (since 2014: the self-proclaimed independent peoples’ republics of Donezk and Luhansk), officially calling it a “special military operation” in order to stop the ongoing bloodshed against ethnic Russians that takes place on these territories since shortly after a coup d'état in Kiev known as “Euromaidan”.

The situation is still ongoing with no end of the hostilities in sight - and due to the entanglement of several European countries and the United States of America in this issue (making it a matter of larger extent than just a regional conflict between neighboring countries), on both sides, everyone has to watch their mouth what to say and write and how about the conflict in public.

The essence of negotiations

In the light of today as the topic of “negotiations” is continuously being wiped off the table with arguments like “Putin started this war” and “Why should Ukraine aspire surrender while they’ve been attacked?” - let’s recall why negotiations are held at all in war scenarios.

When do officials and representatives hold them with representatives of the opponent?
Huh?
First and foremost, it’s not a question of giving up immaterial “values” and virtues” that one side thinks to have on its side - it’s not a question of ideology and idealism.
Plainly, it’s a matter of pragmatism.

Negotiations over truces and “peace” are being held if one side recognizes that it’s about to lose and being crushed, so the smarter people among the state officials figure they’ll be better off stopping to try to win the war by force and rather try to save the slice of the cake that they still have under their control instead of eventually maybe ending up with none of it.

The essence of sitting down to hold negotiations is not surrendering and handing everything over to the enemy that it wants, but more than that securing some little bits of what one still has instead of losing everything and then depending on the arbitrariness or mercy of the winning opponent what few bread crumbs will be granted to oneself.

You practically do that by trying to find things to offer to the enemy fraction for which it shows itself willing to give up the demands for another item. And you do that up until the enemy fraction becomes content and leaves again.

It’s no different than negotiating a price in a handshake deal.
A buyer has interest in obtaining a particular item, the seller tells you the price, but the buyer doesn’t have enough money or doesn’t want to pay that much, so it needs to approach the seller and see if they are hardened in their stance or if there’s some room that can be debated over.

In that case, it’s “only” that the item that you want to buy is “peace” - or at least a truce so that the fighting and the destruction stops.

Negotiating is a tactic that is known in wars and armed conflicts for centuries. As old as such scenarios.

So this isn’t like an “absolutely crazy idea” in this conflict.
Rather it should be asked: What speaks objectively so much against it?

(Unless the explanation is that there are very stubborn humans involved in this specific case that are occupied by ideology and emotional biases who have a very distorted understanding about war at all - that all that there is to obtain is winning, like in a manic fanatic attitude heading for a crusade, heading towards total war, not just mere self-defense.)

His enemies, who spent a long time of friendship with him, still suffer from the results of their deed: Free influx of refugees and soldiers of fortune from Africa as well as the Middle East, other powers taking control of the area, and the oil, a steady flow settled by contract, now is next to be lost.
The outcome of this is still uncertain.

The formation of WWIII and how much your personal wish not to die in it won't matter

...Is there something meaningful to say during these days where the events of today also progress on their way tomorrow? Unimpressed and not impacted by personal opinions of anyone outside of circles of power and public influence?

There's a lot of words that you could voice and drop about the state the world it is in and what and who is responsible for it - but, will it matter? Will it matter anything? Outside of maybe getting into personal trouble? And having to fight that out alone?

Not only that it's war again in Europe - and one of the most devastating times after WWII; unlike in the war over Yugoslavia where NATO came to drop bombs and anytime they won with their orgy of violence -, meanwhile whole NATO discusses and fantasizes about sending weapons into a combat zone headlessly and without safety guarantees which hands these are gonna end up in, while at the same time every time it denies that WWIII has broken out and that its member countries play a very lively part in that. And that Ukraine, their investment proxy in this endeavor, is winning all the time for 11 months, although if it truly did, the war would already been over for a long time.
What kind of world has this become? - Or was it ever any different? Has it only been smart enough in covering its true nature with enough glitter and gold in order to make most of the population believe in its harmlessness and goodwill, being not worth a critical thought about it?

The Western world which calls itself "democractic" and still keeps on spreading its curses on a former president of the United States Trump, using acting and verbal expressions like #NotMyPresident, just because he didn't function according to the usual wishes of the economic and political establishment, seriously shows up and wants to make believe like its whole population supports these political decisions while the reality actually is that there would already be enough people out there to support a national #NotMyPresident campaign in every damn coutry against these so-called "democratic" current leaders. If it wouldn't entail the possibility of becoming subject to repressions or being publicly thrown into the camp of the political right (or whatever kind of zeitgeisty "public enemy"-image) and maybe losing your job and seeing your private life going down the drain through these unfounded mere accusations.

In which point do these policymakers pose anything different than this clown? Making decisions all the time that at least half of the country opposes over its ridiculousness and the danger they create?

The Western world keps reassuring itself over and over again that they're the good guys, the righteous ones - those with all the virtues and values worth fighting for.
But, seen from the prespective of the rest of the world, and seen from the viewpoint of a sober mind, it much more eventually turns into the Death Star from Star Wars. Destroying everything it disapproves of and enslaving everything it can for the profit of the Empire. While leaving behind the trash, the blood and the scattered body parts in the landscape to those who live in the ruins of its acting.

Long story short: Go the hell and make your war alone! Go and have a seat in your own tanks and go to the frontline!
The earlier the warmongering lobbyists and politicians are gone, including their obedient fanboys and fangirls, the better for everyone else who just want to live in peace and quiet.

Review

Zeitenwende - but not as the proclaimer intended it.
After disease follow political dislocations; the final results still not fully foreseeable.

A big change slowly unfolds forcibly and unstoppably; “the” old order continues to die, so do even its representative figures from former times.
And the new leaders of the current time episode that emerge upon the stage, which are supposed to follow in their footsteps, they... gleam with maximum fanatism, zero willingness to compromise and maximum incompetence.
Aiding the collapse of the society they shall administer more than getting it to stick together.

Bringing forth of a new age of regression, full of rabid and raging conservatism that seeks cohesion in delusive items.

All the while, in the meantime, planet earth grows sicker and sicker from the presence of the human species...

The promise about a panacea

A phenomenon typical of this time episode: Perceiving everything and nothing through the filter of one’s political and one’s general world view. Every event that happens is being tried to make it fit into one’s personal agenda, even without making sure before if the factual situation actually allows it or suits.

Everyone is literally busy with vomiting their litanies and rants in another person’s face, whether demanded or not - those ones which they already had to offer before and tried to push through on other occasions, but which obviously weren’t convincing enough before, so they need to try another time to make them appear valid.

And it more and more happens even against the background of claims not applying to a certain event or subject. It increasingly isn’t important anymore if the content of the litanies and rants as well as the proclaimed “cures” actually are relevant or have a connection to the debated item.

Do they broadcast James Bond movies internationally as much as they do in German TV at times?
Judging from the amount of frequency, one comes to pity that man... Because he must be the most overworked agent of a secret service around the world. Under real life circumstances, he’d have to have a burnout by now, on top several other mental diseases and an addiction to alcohol, if not that he had already tried to kill himself several times in order to get out of this sick shit of a Groundhog Day cycle.
