Das fällt ihm aber ziemlich früh ein.
Nachdem er mit über 70 noch eine zweite politische Karriere mit der AfD gestartet hat.

Ein kleiner Teufel auf der Schulter will einem hier sagen, dass ihn wohl doch eher das Frauke-Petry-Syndrom packt... Unter seinen Füßen wird es ihm allmählich etwas zu warm.

The only thing that sounds familiar to me here is AfD. Isn't it an ultra-right party? I remember writing about some idiot who was tweeting about getting rid of disable people or something like that a couple years ago and then he deleted the tweets.

It's about their current chief which recently voiced thoughts of retiring from politics by the time he turns 80 (this would be in 2 years).
But the guy isn't like new to politics - he was a right-winger in the CDU for many, many decades and he also managed to achieve offices in that time.
So, when the AfD arose with him at its peak, it was rather like a second career path that he did. And he started this being already over 70 years old.
