Sorry this is so late! We do have those kinds of bags here in American stores (in fact, I'll be using them today when I go to the grocery store to pick up taco makings - gotta have fresh tomatoes and onions for that!)
It's like, yeah, I can appreciate that multiple use items are better than single use ones, but what are the odds people will use it like that? They should find straight up non-plastic bags to use! (Seems like it shouldn't be hard to do so, either???)
