Well, House music is an upgrade even with boring beat. What I hate most is some type of Musical/ Broadway style, elevator type of music. I think it was trendy for a while. So boring, I want to drop myself and sleep. And amazingly the lyrics is lost there too, usually it is something meaningless like "love with wings will carry me through'( I just made it up, btw). All I want to say it can be even worse than you described.
