Kidnapping in the name of imagined exceptionalism

Although it may be speculative and a bit too early to say that, but the abduction of Venezuela's head of state, commmited by the United States, looks like to become a stunt which, this time, in the long run, won't agree with them. This open "we do whatever the fuck we want"-manner demonstrates too much a deep-seated attitude of ignorance and disrespect against other nations, also against international law - when the moment should come that the United States are going to sink down into a very large whole that will keep them busy with themselves and their own order for a longer time, the international community will probably not have entirely forgotten these blatant acts of neocolonialism, and it might bring consequences into effect then (because the big bully on the schoolyard then isn't powerful enough anymore to force his will upon everyone else or even act vengeful in cases where he thinks to detect betrayal).

A little irony in this: The US social justice warriors are the group most eagerly and most loudly to lecture the world about the colonialism of the past (because of the whites-against-blacks racism), acting (and maybe also thinking?) that what happened in their history is exactly what happened everywhere else in the world and at all times, and it was just about the racism because supposedly white people like to be racist (natural resources like oil, soil, drinking water, ore and living space are all quite meaningless, compared to that...).
All while their own nation does exactly something very similar, and not just since Donald Trump came into office (and can be expected to not drop that behavior should a different candidate come into office from the other big party in the United States).

And, if it comes down to the factor "we don't recognize this person as the head of state of his nation because we think the election was fraud and rigged" - look who's talking. Wasn't there loud shouting in the course of the last couple of presidential elections in the United States, coming from both major parties?
Isn't gerrymandering a big topic over there? (Mind you, this was all not too long ago.)
Obviously the democracy in the US isn't any more perfect than in the countries where they raise the reproaches it doesn't exist...

Naja - Doppelmoral ist Kennzeichen der modernen Linken.

Daß die USA hier etwas gestartet haben, von dem sie nicht so recht zu wissen scheinen, was sie eigentlich wollen zeigt sich daran, daß sie zuerst erzählt haben, sie wollten die Regierung übernehmen, nun aber von einer chirurgischen Operation sprechen. '
Egal wie: das fällt ihnen auf die Füsse, weil Venezuela sich wehrt. Eine richtige Invasion wäre extrem blutig für die USA, ein Staatsstreich ist mehr oder weniger bereits abgewehrt und die Vorstellung, die Ölgeschäfte des Staates zu übernehmen ist auch zum Scheitern verurteilt. Was bleibt ist Kidnapping des Staatsoberhauptes und ein unprovozierter völkerrechtswidriger Angriff auf einen unabhängigen Staat

Eventuell hat sich der Planungsstab für diese Aktion gerdacht, so hollywood-verdächtig wie ihre Aktion und den Präsidenten zu entführen, so wird das weitergehen und die werden vor ihnen kriechen bzw. ohne Maduro zu Grunde gehen. - Tja, was man eben glauben könnte, wenn man alle möglichen Leute in der Welt "Dikatatoren" nennt, nur nicht sich selbst...

Hier ist zwar der Präsident erst mal weg, seine Stellvertreterin sowie das gesamte eingearbeitete Ministerkabinett ist aber immer noch da. Warum sollte da jemand ernsthaft dran denken, "sich zu ergeben", weil man es vermeintlich nicht allein schafft?

Langfristig dürfte so eine Aktion den USA auch deshalb auf die Füße fallen, weil - die internationale Gemeinschaft hat das alles wahrgenommen. Könnte jeder x-beliebige Staatschef der Welt das nächste Opfer einer solchen Aktion werden, wenn die USA mal nicht mehr "amused" mit ihm/ihr sind?
Mit der Unzuverlässigkeit und Unberechenbarkeit will doch keiner Verträge mit einem ausmachen oder Geld in einen investieren. Nicht mehr als gerade nötig ist.
Das Erste, was Investoren oder andere "Player" wollen, die an Geschäften mit einem interessiert sind, ist Sicherheit und vor allen Dingen eine einigermaßen moderate Garantie, dass sich auch an die Verträge gehalten wird...

Bei so einem Schulhoftyrann wie den USA wie sie jetzt sind bzw. sich immer mehr dazu entwickeln - unberechenbar, launenhaft und wollen nur die Pflichten erfüllen, die sie wollen -, da will doch keiner Geld drin versenken.
Und das wird langfristig ein Nachteil sein, wenn man seine Wirtschaft am Leben erhalten und vorwärts bringen will.
