End of fantasy

There won't be a return of easier times.
There won't be a time without cars, without television or without widespread mobility.
There will only be times of shortages, of temporary inavailability, which can last from days to years, but they won't last forever.
Also there won't be a return of labor done through human hands instead of machines.
Humans dreamed of it already centuries ago and all it went was further, not back.
Inventions mankind once has made and popularized - they won't vanish, they will only be replaced with other higher inventions.
There will only be new inventions coming to hit the everyday life, things they don't know, things that kids will be excited about and the next generation won't know how to live without.

It was not meant as optimism. The understanding more is going back is the hope that humans bear within. But the hope is in vain, since mankind, at all times, worked on getting farer than they've already come. It's not like you belong to the first generation who wished back to less technological times - so that should give the hint how it is with hopes right now.
Don't rely on hopes getting fulfilled.
