History distortion

In entourage to the circumstance that Germany grows to be a major power once again, it seems like it also calls those people from underneath the rock which like to rewrite history - which had to hide for a few decades because there was a huge war in their backs, one superior power that kept paying attention that they would not grow that great and independent again so they could become a threat to their interests, and one superior power opposing them, threating them with force should they grow that big again that they played with the thought to extend their sphere of influence.

I agree, not only with respect to Germany, but also with respect to other powers that are rising again. It seems that a certain class of people like to identify with their nation becoming or being a major power -- their personal egos conflate with their perceptions of national power. Just as people like to identify with local or national sports teams.

You becomes We, and then We rise or fall in our own estimations depending on international power games. Unfortunately, international power games are much deadlier than the World Cup.

At the moment, I see, the tendency to twist everything around that was declared to be "common knowledge" is as high as it never has been even through the Cold War times. Not only that the old power structures slowly get torn apart for something that is not even seeable or is even guessable that it is some kind of megalomaniac idea that everyone from down below would say about "You're fucking nuts, are you?!" - it is also that somehow history of the last 100 years in Europe suddenly gets put into question and it is tried to stretch it into various adventurous directions which are never true for the life of it.
It is like one of those evenings before hell breaks loose, and a day after, politicians stand there and wonder "How the hell did we end up in WWIII?! This all wasn't meant that serious!"
It causes you worry, besides of the disgust.
