Thank you, people! Thank you for traveling to Majorca every summer, for traveling to Turkey, Egypt and all the other Mediterranian areas, thank you for every cruise trip you ever joined in the last 20 years, thank you for producing and buying all the short-lived stuff and throwing things away before their expiration, thank you for outsourcing and globalized economy, thank you for all the wars in the Middle East, thank you for all the babies you had to get in the last 20 years, thank you for all the crap you've thoughtlessly thrown into nature, than you for all the stuff you have thoughtlessly taken from nature, thank you for valuing everything in money and rating it higher than matter - thank you for coming up and never getting enough!
That's what everyone gets from it!
And there's still way, way, WAY more to get!

Vorschlag für eine Geschäftsidee: Da derzeit die Preise für Fleisch jeglicher Art so explodieren, wäre es doch gerade der richtige Zeitpunkt, sich bei den fertigen Gerichten, die man in der Konservendose kaufen kann, ein paar Kompositionen einfallen zu lassen, die allein nur mit Gemüse auskommen. (Meinetwegen soll man es auch offiziell als "vegetarisch" bewerben...)

Jegliches fertige Eintopfgericht, das Fleisch enthält, insbesondere die etwas großzügigeren Fleischbällchen, hat im Preis wahnsinnig zugelegt, sodass selbst die Gerichte, die unter dem Namen der Handelsmarken der jeweiligen Ladenketten verkauft werden, allmählich mit den Preisen der großen Marken mithalten können - es wäre in der Tat anzunehmen, dass, wenn diese rein rein nur mit Gemüse auskommen würden (bzw. aus ihnen bestehen), der Preis für sie durchaus niedriger wäre, da bei Gemüse, Reis und Kartoffeln der Anstieg bisher noch nicht ganz so groß ausfiel.

Und aufmerksam hingeschaut, muss man auch feststellen: Es gibt recht wenige unter den Dosengerichten, die von vorn herein als vegetarisches Gericht konzipiert sind...
Maximal versucht man, bei Varianten der klassichen Eintöpfe (Kartoffel-, Erbsen-, Linseneintopf) die Würstchen oder das Fleisch darin wegzulassen - was irgendwie etwas fehlplatziert wirkt.
Oder man übt sich im hochpreisigen Bereich, generell Zusammenstellungen vegan anzulegen und mit umstrittenen Fleischersatzprodukten zu arbeiten.

...Das dürfte doch nicht so schwer in die Tat umzusetzen sein, oder?

(Und es wäre nicht anzunehmen, dass sich solche vegetarischen Dosengerichte nicht auch verkaufen würden. - Die Kochfaulen, -unbegabten und Leute, die in diesen Tagen so um ihr Weiterleben besorgt sind, sodass sie haltbare Lebensmittel horten, nehmen inzwischen fast schon alles, was schmeckt und nicht so teuer ist, das ins schmalere Budget passt.)

Hopefully those countries which now file their applications for becoming a member of the NATO don't forget that membership doesn't only mean getting "safe from a Russian invasion", but also, whenever the United States are up in a war again with anyone, they're firmly part of the cleanup squad then after that skirmish.

The way times are like now, one would even wish to go back to the days of just ranting about the woke mob in social media and the entertainment industry...

The path of the warrior can be quite dreadful.
You see a lot of ugly things, experience a lot of betrayal, witness many changes and storms, and you get to feel humans from their various sides. Positive and negative.
Also... you lose a lot of comrades along the way.
People who fight with you for a similar objective or believe in the word you spread, whether they do that for virtuous reasons or for the same shady ones that originally brought you to the battlefield.
They die in battle, they change sides, they split off from your horde because you don’t fight for the right subjects anymore, or they leave because they themselves have abandoned the path of honesty, or they get so severely wounded during the war, so that they can’t go on with the road they have chosen. Also, they might meet a guy/girl in between and settle down because that fulfills them with something that feels larger than continuing a fight whose end cannot be foreseen.

Continuously, along the way, depending on how well it goes, how bad the losses are and who leaves you while carrying on, you keep asking yourself the question whether the path is worth it.
Whether the target of the path is truly worth all you sacrifice for it.
Whether the efforts all pay off, judged by the results you get.
And if it’s practically and morally justified what you do.

Weren’t there other means to achieve the same goal - or something comparable?
Was it necessary to agree to such an ascetic lifestyle?
Could the same ideals be won with fewer losses?
Was everything that had to be done, from your point of view, necessary?
And, at all... do you still continue with the path because of the origins you started it with or did your motives change in between - change into something that more has to do with habit and playing a role voluntarily? Because, meanwhile, you know nothing else what to do with your life?

All that for justifying a continuation before yourself and in front of other people who pose that question to you... For telling you, you’re on a path that feels right to you.

Looking down on the graves of those that have been lost during the war - comrades, civilians, enemy soldiers, innocent victims of the violence, children, even villains -, through the many numbers of them, points the fork whether it’s been enough dead people already or whether their deaths shall not have been in vain...

The path of the warrior itself can be the warning memorial to this mass of devastation - to these existences ended, to the lives spun and twisted along it, to human madness and all the worst abilities and character features mankind can display, to the austerity you have to endure and force upon yourself for it, and to the lasting loss of trust other than in yourself.

In your own interest, trans folks: By taking transsexuality out of the corner of “disease” and making it an apparent lifestyle decision, as the scene lobby and social activism enforce it since the past few years, they also erase it from the catalogue of medical conditions which health insurance needs or has to assist you with.
Health insurance and what it pays for doesn’t exist for realizing castles in the sky or personal esthetics, it exists to pay for the crap you are or get sick with.
So with it “being no medical condition anymore”, what reason does the insurance have to pay for all the expensive physical modifications, operations and the lifelong hormones you have to take?

Think about it. How many trans folks around the world without a high-paying job would be left alone in their lifelong misery - with no financial support to be made possible for them?

Wouldn’t it be better to invest one’s powers into giving that “disease” its more suitable place? To get it inserted in between all the other intersex conditions which people get born with without asking for it and which they carry no personal blame for?

It’s no sin to be permanently physically sick. How many people throughout the world are with anything else and are in need of meds or medical treatments?

Or is it that you can’t bear the truth that something is broken with your body? Do you fail to pluck up the courage to claim the medical treatment from the medicine sector that you rightfully need and deserve with a physical defect?

Okay, in case you don’t want to hear it: Being trans is forever. Being trans requires lifelong substitution of artificial hormones (if you go all the complete way). Being trans leads to operations, whose scars and impacts you gonna feel on your shell for the rest of your life.
Being trans and being treated medically also may lead to other imbalances in the hormonal balance.
And being trans requires to be under medical surveillance for the rest of your life.

Your whole existence and medical treatment for it is a weighing of “What is the greater and the smaller evil of all options?”.

So, say... what makes it honestly different from a “simple” chronic disease?
You’ve got to treat it like that anyway...

...If you get to make the turn of a “mental disorder” to a chronic physical disease, everyone gets to keep its possibilities to get help from a health system (if one exists in your country). Each poor trans folk can still get its treatment paid if he/she has no money themselves.
And you can also be treated accordingly to your physical features and missing things in a hospital or other institutions where segregation according to sex is common/necessary.
Because it’s noted down in your official health record that you’re chronically sick with a certain diagnosis whose outlines are firmly defined.

Can’t you claim your rights for medical treatment and bureaucratic changes of your official persona way better with that than with the tag “medically insane - too insane to be cured”?
And couldn’t certain stigmata regarding the issue “this mental insanity gets rewarded and assisted - while somebody who thinks he’s Jesus gets sent to a mental hospital until he can think clearly again” be shaken off with that? Huh?

I figure it’s just as I suspected about “nonbinary” and all these terms...
Actually, it’s only about not meeting the expectations of one’s respective culture for male and female. That’s all about it, if not individually interpreted in a different way.

Well, as explored further here, not just that it doesn’t have anything to do with either physical or mental sex (the latter is, unfortunately, very, very much confused with the cultural expectations towards both sexes) - if seen through the lens of a different cultural upbringing, it leaves you behind with a couple of questions:

1) What is this about? What’s the big deal about this?
2) What’s so special about that? Isn’t it like self-evident that you don’t fulfill every socially expected character trait or supposed preference of your sex?
3) Why does such a circumstance need extra attributes and identities to wipe them in everybody’s faces?
4) Who wants to know this about a person at all after exchanging just a couple of words? Isn’t it so with everyone that you have to get to know the person’s individual preferences, character traits and so on because everyone wants things a little different than the other?

The more you try to understand it, the more you come to feel like it’s an issue of “a bag of rice falling over in China”. An actually trivial thing pumped up like a huge blister.
And the more you see some people turning over in their minds what kind of supposed “sex” (always expressed as “gender”) they belong to because of being or liking this or that which is labeled “untypical” of their born sex, the more extremely confused they get what side of things they actually are placed on.
That’s because mental sex and “gender” (the artificial term that John Money established) are mistaken to be one and the same.
In truth, these people find themselves in conflict what kind of expectations society directs at them based on their physical sex, associating certain personality traits, preferences and role behavior firmly with it. Not with their actual biological and mental sex.
But due to throwing those three - biological and mental sex and social/cultural expectations - into one and the same pot, not regarding them as separate subjects, they make the mistake to believe something is wrong with their biological and mental sex.

In other words, the words of an outsider to this, this would be: It’s being stuck in human culture and not realizing its relativity. Barely anything of that can be factually undermined as “this is the right path” and “this is the wrong path”. And expectations and cultural images can also change over time.
So it doesn’t matter how you do things, how you want things and how you prefer things - there is no real right&wrong.
You are as you are as a personality, that doesn’t automatically negate your biological sex and your mental sex. - Unless you really want it to and actually aim at a different path (transition).
Nearly everyone harbors anything that its respective society would label as “untypical”.
The reason why not everyone makes a drama about this is: They can integrate it very well into their personal identity.
They’ve undergone the process of realizing this part of themselves doesn’t make them lesser a male or a female. Maybe they didn’t even have to do that because their early surroundings weren’t that narrow-minded about that!

The core thing about “nonbinary” and all the other attributes pointing in a similar direction content-wise is: Becoming aware of the wrongs and fallacies of one’s own culture. Even about the culture that the economy, advertising, popular movies, media on the whole and commerce create.
This is all relative and not be taken with a grain of salt. Neither it is cast in stone for all eternity.
All that is, in easy terms, a fantasy world created by human will and it doesn’t necessarily have much to do with biological and mental sex.
If those expectations and cultural norms don’t suit your character, don’t get a different identity scheme and leave it as it is - challenge it. Do your thing, progress in life with your head upright.
The bigger the number of people who do this and don’t hide in their illusion of “being a different kind of human than the rest”, the quicker such narrow schemes for how people have to be like will blur.

So, as a conclusion to this: If you already live in a headspace of not expecting much of what a person “is supposed to be like” without really knowing it more closely, and accepting nearly everything that it’s going to answer or reveal about itself, those attributes for “neither man, nor woman” are superfluous.

These days it’s ringing one year with Covid-19 being globally around - and, thinking realistically, the end still can not be foreseen. Although, admittedly, the means against the disease that this new coronavirus causes have grown from that status of “zero” last year.

So, let’s forge a summarization what there could be learned through the course of this year past...

One thing that, for sure, could be very clearly learned, wherever you lived on this planet: Capitalism is on its last legs. Or better say: It’s not the economy form anymore which can seemingly supply everyone with everything he/she needs. Also, it’s not the capitalism anymore that people used to know from glorious and wealthy times.
Why is that?
It’s because of the globalized economy that is around there now, that it has formed over decades, and the “development plan” of “let’s develop the world and bring supply and goods to the most difficult areas of the world” has shifted to “let’s make money with the least amount of work and investment” - which in practice means “minimal setup for everything, so that the circle of making money is still being kept up, but don’t think about the future or possible disturbances of that one setup for achieving something”. A wobbly base for supply with necessary goods.

As the virus went around the globe and other states than China and its East Asian neighbors realized that this is a topic that affects them also, this should have become very visible as nearly all countries of the world suddenly charged the market of face masks, disposable gloves and protection suits and found themselves getting way too few than needed because most of the production worldwide had been outsourced to China. - Here not the Middle Kingdom is to blame, but just greed, first world arrogance and a slightly racist mindset of Western enterprises which think like “things that have become minor activities which get paid just a few pennies - these can very well be done by some primitive people; for us this is beyond our standards”.
Enterprises and the big economy never wasted a thought about “What if there could suddenly be a spike in need?”, they didn’t care for a home-brew supply just in case whatever happens.
The only thing they cared about was their profit and about exploiting some folks in a country far away from their headquarters. And they have assured themselves of that never anything is going to happen which may break their concept how they had arranged the supply chains.

As the first countries had to operate with national lockdowns because of infection rates spiking, supply chains being more dominated by greed and thoughtlessness than anything else could be witnessed with food items.
At that time, and still it is so, some countries literally “had the task” to produce ware X and none else did that.
Why? Because of “planned economy”. “Planned economy” that doesn’t serve peoples’ needs and keeping up a public order, but just big enterprises and corporations making the most in profit with the least amount of bet - which had been arranged this way by corrupt politicians which realized the laws and legislature for that over decades.
Simultaneously, it became noticeable how many food items of particular types nationally were produced merely for exporting them to some other nation(s) - because then, these wares once remained in their countries of origin because the international trade and border traffic strongly reduced all by themselves.
So actually there’s a strong overproduction in particular goods just in favor of export in each country because some circumstances for creating them seemingly or factually fit advantageously for those who draw the most gain from the price of them and the separate national economies have been shifted to incredibly monocultures, leading to strong dependence on each other and therefore to fragile supply chains that break down as soon as anything on a larger scale strikes and disturbs their functionality. (Besides: Also leading to incredible one-sided ecological burdens).

Which, in the end, leads to countries producing some particular stuff in such large quantities that they could barely use them up themselves to supply their own people, and other stuff being produced in such few or no quantities that they’re literally fucked if they’re on their own for once.

This is not optimization of production and international “division of labor” according to the concept of David Ricardo. This is abuse of currency exchange courses for the sake of making dead substance called “money”, exploiting one people - the one that manages to be cheaper than all other -, playing multiple ends against the middle for no practical use of human society as a whole, destroying and ruining nature along the way, and even endangering the prosperity that mankind has made it to over centuries (because infrastructure already erected is being left to decay or to reduction due to costs, but which also results in decrease of performance, safety and stability). Including preventing other people from the 2nd or 3rd world countries getting to comparable levels of prosperity - because infrastructure in their countries sees no real development and investment into it anymore, other than if it is for broadening the circle of generating money for some far-away-living already wealthy person in a skyscraper.

During the year with Covid-19 around, witnessing time episodes through the natural seasons with more or lesser restrictions in each country, the overall global economy has a little adapted to the circumstances given - even though, noticeable in many spots and situations, against its will. Actually the big economy wanted to go on and act like nothing is wrong, like the virus and the disease doesn’t exist.
Supply chains have a little adapted through the course too because the countries and their national economies individually realized that this isn’t going to be over so soon and they are going to have to adapt if they want to evade chaos, bottlenecks and public panic - all, additionally, to their own personal disfavor too.

But, one point still remains as it was before: Protection clothes, masks and corona test kits still are being mostly produced and China and other East Asian countries. - The most important goods in order to actually manage and decrease this pandemic.
And the (capitalistically-organized) world economy doesn’t seem to see a problem with that. Forgotten are the troubles of the past spring in which the self-declared “wealthiest countries of the world” were running around like scared chicken and panicked over their lack of supply with basic medical goods for hygiene.
All progresses according to habit meanwhile... With nothing really learned from it.

That is why there is to say that capitalism is at its end.
That is why there is to say that the capitalism that people knew, which once helped developing the world, is no more.
Now it is just an economic system rooted down on fragile legs, existing mostly for making a few dozen people in the world rich (rich with something that has no meaning in nature and that can’t feed you if there are no food items to buy with it), and even these big partakers actually just wish for getting well through the breakdown if it happens. Because they somehow know that this stripped down machinery isn’t gonna last forever anymore.
But changing the concept or coming down from their “standards” of greed, how much this shall be supposed to bring them in “gain”, is like blasphemy to them - like they’re going to break a leg if they once be content with their amounted mass of money and sacrifice some in order to keep their own base for a living upright.

So it is either up to you and me to come up with something else in time, to shift structures back or erect new ones as best as possible under that reign in order to secure our own well-being - because the people currently sitting at the levers that make the world go around won’t be willing to make that happen. They just sit and watch and try to figure out how much juice the lemon still exudes.
All the while not really caring for human life, animal life, plant life, civilization, health of the masses or mankind being still alive in a hundred years and in good shape, not degenerated.

So - what could be witnessed in the past year with Covid-19 is the expectation of what can be seen in the coming year. Maybe milder, probably rather worse...
‘Cause it cannot be forgotten that also vaccine manufacturers are just subjects interested in making money. - Guess what they do if someone else discovers or engineers are way better and more easier vaccine or treatment for the disease?
Of course, they’ll try to shut that one down and ruin that person... Even if it’s factually correct with what it has found/engineered.
The laws of a corrupted market full of predators are still intact, even though there is a plague out there.

Mit der Idee aus Sachsen, einen Bewegungsradius zu erlassen, innerhalb dessen sich die Leute von ihrem Wohnort nur noch entfernen dürfen (außer für Arztbesuche und Schuften) - damit hat man in Berlin wieder ein gefundenes Fressen gefunden...
Nachdem es sichtbar wurde, dass die Ausgangssperren, wo sie erlassen wurden, gar nicht so viel gebracht haben und in bestimmten Gebieten nutzlos sind, weil dort eh abends nach neun nichts mehr los ist (und zudem zur Zeit alles geschlossen ist, wo man hingehen könnte, um sich außer Haus zu vergnügen), hat man nun in seiner Verzweiflung auf der Suche nach neuen Ideen wie man seine Infektionszahlen noch senken könnte, wenn diese nicht wollen, ein Modell entdeckt, was andere schon seit Wochen praktizieren, wovon man scheinbar in der Hauptstadt und im Kanzleramt bisher noch nichts gehört hatte.
Und prompt musste man zuschnappen - diesen Stohhalm aufheben und ihn gleich zum festen Bestandteil der neuen Verordnungen machen. Entgegen jeglicher Prüfung, ob das überall überhaupt praktisch durchführbar wäre...

Man kann nur eines in diesem Zusammenhang immer wieder festhalten: So gut wie kein Entscheidungsträger in Berlin oder den jeweiligen Landesregierungen scheint mehr auf dem Lande zu wohnen, sonst wüssten sie nämlich, dass 15 Kilometer als Bewegungsradius auch mal schnell ausgefüllt sein können - und man hat immer noch nicht das Ziel erreicht, wohin man will oder muss.

Auch ist hier allmählich mal sehr kritisch anzumerken: Jegliche Form von Vergnügen und Ausgang wird dicht gemacht oder untersagt, aber im Namen der Arbeit oder darf man immer noch fast schon unbegrenzt durch die Gegend pendeln.
Wenn man nicht gerade Angestellter bei einem der Einzelhandelsgeschäfte ist, die derzeit geschlossen bleiben müssen, oder zu einem anderen Unternehmen gehört, was durch die durch Corona verursachte Wirtschaftskrise seine Arbeiter in Kurzarbeit nach Hause schicken oder gar entlassen musste, gibt es keine Einschränkungen, was das tägliche Schuften angeht. - Obwohl einem niemand erzählen kann, dass es jetzt noch notwendig ist, zum Beispiel Autos zu produzieren.
In den Autohäusern der Republik stehen so viele fertig produzierte Wagen herum, die man kaufen könnte (inklusive Gebrauchtwagen) - man könnte sich buchstäblich damit gegenseitig bewerfen.
Wo sind mal die Beschränkungen für die Großindustrie, die zur Zeit eh kaum Waren absetzen dürfte?
Und das obwohl selbst schon offiziell vom RKI der Arbeitsplatz als eine der Hauptquellen für Infektionen ausgemacht wurde (zu Zeiten als man die Infektionen noch nachvollziehen konnte)!

Es mutet geradezu bizarr an angesichts dessen, dass nahezu alle kleinen Innenstadtgeschäfte per Dekret geschlossen wurden, dass selbst Haare schneiden lassen schon wieder zu viel ist und dass man privat wieder nicht mehr als eine haushaltsfremde Person treffen soll, weil alles angeblich „so gefährlich“ ist, und die Großindustrie hingegen nach wie vor in keinster Weise reguliert oder beschränkt wird.
Wie eine sexuell aktive Frau, die nicht verhütet, die ständig mit irgendeinem Mann schläft, irgendwann plötzlich im Bereich des Bauches kontinuierlich dicker wird, ihre Monatsblutung bleibt aus, aber keinesfalls zieht sie den Gedanken in Erwägung, sie könnte wohl möglich schwanger sein...

Wenn inzwischen nämlich der Großteil der Geschäfte geschlossen ist, die Menschen sich alsbald in Gegenden mit hohem Infektionsgeschehen privat nicht mehr weit von ihrem Wohnort entfernen dürfen und sie auch keine Möglichkeiten mehr haben, sich außerhalb von eigenen Wohneinheiten zu vergnügen - irgendwoher müssen die hohen Zahlen schließlich kommen.
Und was läge da fern als die Dinge anzutasten, die man seit einem Jahr nicht im Ansatz auch nur in seine Diskussionen mal involviert hat?
Vor einem Dreivierteljahr wollte man auch noch jeden brandmarken, der Kinder als „Keimschleudern“ bezeichnet hat, obwohl alle Eltern das Leid kennen werden, was alsbald im Haushalt passiert, wenn das Kind mit Husten, Schnupfen, Heiserkeit nach Hause kommt - und man wollte ebenso fest behaupten, dass es an Schulen keinerlei Infektionsgeschehen gibt.
Inzwischen ist man in dem Punkt auch eines Besseren belehrt worden.

Gerade in der Großindustrie und der großen Wirtschaft wird bei den Hygienevorschriften mehr Schein als Sein betrieben, weil man mit dem minimalsten Aufwand das Wenigste im ganzen Ablauf verändern will. Die zu erbringenden Normen bleiben nach wie vor dieselben, wo es sie gibt; es läuft nach der Devise "scheißegal wie du mir das hinkriegst, Hauptsache es läuft alles wie immer!". Was dann in etwa zu solchen Szenarien wie im Frühling bei Tönnies führt, wo reihenweise Beschäftigte durch die Arbeitsstelle infiziert wurden.

Und, offen gesprochen, dem Virus ist es herzlich egal, warum ein infizierter Wirt wie weit sein Zuhause verlässt. Ob es für einen Arztbesuch ist und er weiß nicht von seinem Glück, oder ob er in der großen Wirtschaft schuften geht und das nach wie vor eine genehmigte Ausnahme von so gut wie allen Restriktionen darstellt.
Dem Virus ist es egal, durch welchen Ort es weiterverbreitet wird. Hauptsache nur, es kommen möglichst viele potentielle Wirte auf engem Raum zusammen, in die es sich einnisten kann.
Und in dieser Hinsicht stellt die Großindustrie und die Großwirtschaft keine Ausnahme dar.

Gestern konnte man nun eine Kostprobe davon erhalten, was Silvester gänzlich ohne Feuerwerk wäre (weil inzwischen politische Forderungen dafür unter dem Deckmantel des Umweltschutzes aufgetaucht sind)...

Man muss sagen, dafür, dass der Feuerwerksverkauf der Ab-18-Ware verboten wurde und lediglich vorher Tisch- und Jugendfeuerwerk verkauft werden konnte, wurde doch noch moderat viel geknallt. In den Straßen in den Stunden zuvor als auch zu Mitternacht. - Wohlgemerkt, gemessen daran, dass niemand irgendwas haben sollte.
Wo die Leute das her hatten - und nein, Polen kommt nicht in Frage; deren "schlagkräftiges" Fabrikat ist ja sehr berühmt-berüchtigt und daher erkennbar -, ist einem etwas schleierhaft. Das kann wirklich nur im Keller vom letzten Jahr gelegen haben - selbst der stetige Aushelfer für alles namens "Amazon" zeigte einem bei Suchanfragen nicht das entsprechende an. Diese Option fällt daher als Quelle auch aus.

Was als Veränderung aber auch spürbar war: Diejenigen, die zu spätererer Uhrzeit in der Dunkelheit überhaupt zum Knallen durch die Straßen zogen, auffallend oft war angeheitertes Gegröhle darunter; sogar eine Vuvuzela und Fußballtröten kamen zum Einsatz. Es wirkte vielmehr als wenn ein Spiel der Nationalmannschaft stattfindet.

Die übliche Geruchskulisse wollte sich zu Mitternacht auch nicht einstellen.

Über den Tag hingegen wirkte es auffallend ruhig. Hier oder da vereinzelt mal ein Knallkörper hörbar.
Für den Tag des Jahres regelrecht gespenstisch; als wenn nichts besonders los wäre, als wenn es ein ganz gewöhnlicher Tag im alltäglichen Mausgrau wäre.

Angesichts dessen, sollte man die Frage stellen: Sollte man es sich gefallen lassen, das Feuerwerk zu Silvester dauerhaft verbieten zu lassen (nicht bloß wegen Corona)?
Viele berufen sich dabei auf die Umwelt und dass es besser für die Haustiere ist, die, angesichts der Geräuschkulisse, jährlich durchdrehen, weil sie nicht wissen und verstehen, was draußen los ist.
Auf der anderen Seite muss man aber auch erwidern: Dieser eine Tag produziert so viele giftige Dämpfe und erzeugt CO2 - wie vergleicht sich diese Menge zur täglichen Pendlerei zur Arbeit rund ums Jahr?
Alles mögliche, was CO2 erzeugen könnte, wird inzwischen in Frage gestellt, ob man sich das noch leisten kann, aber die größten Quellen von stetigem CO2-Ausstoß - Arbeitspendlerei und Wegfahren/Wegfliegen um Urlaub machen -, diese bleiben nach wie vor unangetastet. Und wehe dem, der dies doch tut!

An dieser Stelle nimmt die Problematik eine sehr heuchlerische Komponente an - um nicht zu sagen: Es wirkt auf das bloße Auge, als wenn alle Geschichten über den "Kapitalismus in der Endstufe" doch wahr sind.
Denn, nahezu alles, was den Menschen noch Vergnügen bereiten könnte, wird in Frage gestellt und geliebäugelt, ob man es nicht verbieten oder sehr streng regulieren könnte und sollte.
Doch hingegen Schuften tagtäglich und die Umweltverbrechen, die dabei begangen werden, diese werden hingegen nie ein Thema. Sind quasi wie ein Dogma, das es nicht umzustoßen gilt. Arbeiten soll der Mensch - und das nicht zu knapp -, aber vergnügen soll er sich bitteschön nicht mehr. Es könnte ja alles potentiell gefährlich sein - wohl eher potentiell "gefährlich für seine Arbeitskraft". Der Mensch könnte ja einen Tag nicht zur Verfügung stehen, weil er sich erholen muss... Oder er könnte ja auch nur eine Minute zu viel von seiner Existenz einem anderen Thema widmen als sich abzurackern und verkaufbare Ware zu produzieren.

So etwas hat tatsächlich etwas von "man schafft seine Sitten und Gebräuche ab" - nicht zugunsten der Umwelt, sondern damit ein weiteres Stück des Menschen einem anderen Menschen gehört, der ihn nur als Werkzeug, als Mittel zum Zweck, um etwas bestimmtes zu erreichen, benutzen will, und ihn auf diesen bloßen Zweck reduziert. Dem er als Person völlig egal ist, deren Schlechtergehen er sogar bewusst in Kauf nimmt, so lang nur das für ihn dabei herausspringt, was er haben will.
