You know what’s going to be the biggest factor getting in the way of soothing the extent that climate change will have on this blue sphere here?
The international community outside of the Western countries gives a fuck about so-called “green technologies”. They care more about their own development, which had been kept down for centuries by the plundering of the dominant European and North American countries. And that means, cheap energy accessible to the biggest mass of people and local industries carries more importance than making it as exclusive as it can get through applying complex and expensive technologies in the chain, which the bigger parts of the population in the first world countries are able to afford (in whatever way possible to individuals).
The mindset of the Western world and what they think of as “problems” is so far away from those of the rest of the world - literally elevated thousands of kilometers above the ground, figuratively.
So are many other issues such as that of a cultural nature, for example.
The rest of the world literally doesn’t care about the gender-fantasies of twenty-somethings in the US or Europe and their dreams of deconstructing the biological base of the two sexes. Or about rainbow flags, pride months and loudly celebrating LGBT minority rights like they would be a cure against HIV and cancer altogether (rights which quite a chunk of areas in the world don’t have anyway).
There are way more urgent problems to them than such boredom- and living-in-security-driven ergotherapy of emphasizing things that revolve around the aspect of the anthropocentric worldview to overestimate the social ongoings between humans in a society.
To the rest of the world, the classic aspects of the mindset of the anthropocentric worldview are important: Where do humans get a space to live, a roof over their head, food and water for humans, jobs to earn money and chances to procreate - as well as chances to feed that offspring and raise it into an adult.
If you want to get the rest of the world into the same boat as the culturally loony Western part of the planet, then you first rather need to get them to abandon their part of the anthropocentric worldview, in which all natural resources of the planet exist just to serve and be consumed primarily by humans. - Including your own focus where human business and social interaction still also overshadows everything, beside you talking about “wanting to save the world” and “protecting the environment” (inconsequently).

Date: 9 August 2022 09:01 am (UTC)I saw an observation yesterday that reverence for "the market" in the US is so deeply unquestioned at this point, that even on the Left there is a reluctance to criticize any "personal choice", no matter how loony, irrelevant, or destructive such a choice might be. "Personal autonomy" is a rising value on the Left. Not solidarity. A proliferation of personal identities rather than a broadening of coalitions. Resistance to "the government" telling me (or anyone else) what to do. Certainly if somebody is consumed by questions about their own gender expression and coming out as a new identity to their family, friends, and employer, they're not thinking about the projected quadrupling of the population of Africa by 2100, or the problems of daily life in Manila.
Perhaps it has to do with the US being the world's hyperpower — we suffer no discipline. All of the costs of our global dominance are borne by other people and other species. So we get to fiddle around with how to best optimize our own personal happiness and expression while the world burns.
One of many ways this plays out is the pledge by President Biden not to increase taxes on anybody making under $400,000 per year, a pledge followed by the current "Inflation Reduction Act" (which does not actually reduce inflation). There is no sense of shared sacrifice on the Left in the US. Somebody else will pay for it, or we'll just borrow more.
I'm not sure how to lure people in the US out of their little bubbles, to take an approach of wider solidarity with others around the world.

Date: 9 August 2022 09:36 am (UTC)Screaming "gender", "green energy", "racism" and "feminism" all the time. While actually actively destroying the last remaining bits of "team spirit" in society here.
And being about destroy achievements that have been made in the past in technical terms - because the amount of "green energy" currently produced now never ever can cover the amount currently used thoughtlessly without worries.
Eastern Europe laughs about these castles in the sky that those people harbor and which try to get into active politics in a pushing manner... (Because they know how much gas was puchased by Western Europe previously and how much it is NOT replaceable anytime near "soon".)
And while all that - look, countries like Russia make contracts with other countries who wait in line for the supply with energy or energy carriers they can deliver. The rest of the world obviously has other concerns than "green energy" - they first want to get energy at all.
And, regarding all the social stuff - just look at other countries who aren't under the big influence of Western media corporations which spread the Western mindset bubble.
Things which have been made a huge topic in Western societies are none in these. Zip. And life goes on for them.
People for which hunger is still a deal, or which can't live the life in the careless wealth bubble, they got different problems than fighting about whether one's expression of his sex is a social construct or an inborn urge. (Needless to say, they perceive themselves that it's more than just society. So the theory doesn't even need to be discussed because it's bullshit in a scientific manner.)
Only thing that I have to note critically about this "we stand in line, waiting for energy to be delivered" is: Just as much as people in the Western societies are obsessed with the social relations between humans and quarrel about this, as much the other areas of the world are just busy with making the resources of the earth serve only human interests. The rest of nature seemingly doesn't exist in this mindset.
And in that point, they have something incredibly toxic in commong again: Anthropocentrism.
The world revolving around humans and human business.
Like there's nothing else which should receive attention.
And in this "looking away" from everything else that is no concern of human life, they both work their ways in making everything die on this planet.
'Cause there's more on this blue sphere here than just the lives and the ongoings of humans.

Date: 9 August 2022 11:41 am (UTC)I've been reading a book by a biologist who studied social behavior across species, in ants, termites, apes, humans, etc. He wrote that no animal has ever shown a concern for its entire species, much less concern for other species. He stated that humans are no different, except for a small minority of us who seem to have an unusual amount of empathy. He does argue that social animals show altruism for their kin or those they consider to be "on my side". But this is rarely a universal altruism, and when you run the biostatistics, there's no reason for DNA to evolve universal altruism. Instead there's a tension between actions that benefit the self and actions that benefit others in our social group.
The foreign aid budget of the US is only 0.2% of our GDP LOL, and we're still the largest GDP in the world. Only 2% of US residents listed the environment, pollution, or climate change as our #1 problem when asked during June 2022. Only 1% listed the gap between rich and poor. Another 1% listed foreign policy or foreign aid. 40% listed the economy, especially the high cost of living. Most people just want more stuff for themselves and their families — that's definitely what unites all of us.
(no subject)
Date: 9 August 2022 12:54 pm (UTC)Altruism itself is tied to some sort of more complex cognitive capabilities of thinking. So there's a limited amount of animals except for humans which can actually show such a trait. (This would plausibly explain why some other mammals also show gestures of helping humans in distress. - They must perceive them as "on their side" or at least to face a similar challenge like them, e. g. predators that can also become a danger to a human.)
And, as it's also known, the lesser the conscious cognitive thinking, the more instincts rule a creatures behavior. - And this also comes tied in some relation to the size of a creature. E. g. insects are recognized to be much too small for conscious thought.
Thus, those animals left mostly controlled by natural instincts, it can end no other than the "ultimate goal" in their behavior being: Eat, shit, procreate and then die.
As humans aren't completely free of instincts (as much as they despise that fact and like to see themselves as something much more evolved than other animals), the same rules also apply to them...
...Hm, so to say, having an unusual amount of empathy could be regarded as "a defect of evolutional development"?
...Or maybe "the next step"; at least concerning if a species occupies too much space and too much resources on the planet.
Individuals of a species who turn limitation of their own species into practice, in some way, also save the continuation of its existence. By preventing it to die from overexpansion.
Intellectually, my brain comes from root thoughts that involved misanthropy and questioning the outstanding position of the human species that is so much part of its acting overall worldwide in an unreflecting manner.
So that's how I come to take a step back from everything and actually put the question overall "Most of what humans make a fuss about, how cares? Who cares other than them?".
Most things that everyone gets told to care about are issues from the circle of human life and human civilization.
But "life" itself is more than just the business of humans. Or what they enjoy from nature or think of as "useful for themselves" from nature.
For example, if nature "wants" to, it can let the human species disappear again. And barely anything, except for their bones and some of the monuments they built, will remain as proofs of existence to whatever life form after them manages to acquire a higher cognitive development.
So... why is human business always so unconditionally important while the rest of all existence isn't?
There is no objective answer to that question, so there only remains "bias". Bias towards human business. "Humans taking and declaring themselves to be the most important thing in the world", in other words.
And under that umbrella, you get a lot of explanations for why some things are as they are... And why, for example, the growing environmental problem remains disregarded by the people who could decisively make a change in it. Why these individuals favor human-created values such as "money" over seeing the surroundings they live in daily continue to exist.
They live so much in an anthropocentriv worldview - as much as it can be. They take their daily surroundings for granted which actually allow them the lives they lead and freely be a slave to their greed.
The human world many has turned away from the stance that the earth is the center of the universe, but underneath the surface, the "spirit" that produced such nonsensical assumptions is still very alive.
Say... that's why I regard Nihilism as a gain to the sense of recognition. It teaches you the relativety of the wheelings and dealings of human society. That humans don't matter to nature, that they mostly matter to themselves.

back into English
"Just as many other topics, for example of a cultural nature."

History tells more than anybody that all this shit is just the clear glimpses of stagnation but maybe it is just the war against the collective west… drugs popularization, moral dysfunction, economic stagnation, cultural absence, difficult to imagine disunity – all these features remind me how collective west had been fighting with Tsar’s Russia and with China not so long ago… So, maybe this is just a revenge?

Date: 9 August 2022 11:43 pm (UTC)In the end, though, it's linguistically not wrong, my choice of words, as far as I know.
"all this shit is just the clear glimpses of stagnation"
Hm... I already thought of similar things, given the overall circumstances.
Although I have to be clear here - this doesn't apply to the underlying subjects plainly existing (they've existed in all previous human societies), but to the cultural overload that is being created out of them.
The overload leads to even those with a half-way solid identity questioning themselves because of inflicted insecurity. Taking away some of those (last) straws which hold them together.

Don’t get me wrong I appreciate your contribution into LJ English speaking community very much, especially when there are so many not native English writing LJ users (I always thinking why there are not India users for example), needless to add there are not many my friends which are English writing LJ users right now thanks to many factors of course. Anyway, I had found, as many others had written before that the writing thing is a very therapeutic thing by itself and when I have problems with writing simple, it means, I do not understand clearly the subject but of course this my thought has nothing to do with you because, again, German is very difficult language to use and this hard work develops the brain of German speaking humans, this maybe the reason that Germany and German language had given to the world so many famous philosophers…
“Although I have to be clear here - this doesn't apply to the underlying subjects plainly existing (they've existed in all previous human societies), but to the cultural overload that is being created out of them.”
Yes, of course yes. I have just thought that American army had experiments of using LSD as a weapon. Interesting to read the results of these experiments of course and anyway, Nowadays USA is consuming drugs as if not on itself… Of course we had some examples of such cultural disaster – Chinese or Asian opioids wars where anglosucks had used drugs to weaken China and to steal as much as possible from it. And if we look on USA in that angle when simple question is rising – who is weakening and stealing from USA right now? Aliens? Where all the gold which USA had stolen from Europe igniting altogether with former Great Britain WW1 and WW2 has gone or will be stolen after the USA will inevitably collapse with such social and economic policy, to the Moon or the rich Americans will bring it back to stable as never now Russia?

Date: 10 August 2022 01:13 pm (UTC)I've noticed, for the last few public entries, that, compared to before, quite a chunk of people comes to visit. It's already made me wonder... But then I think "well, I'm one of the remaining few English-writing people here, so many others have left off to Dreamwidth - maybe that contributes?".
Gives me a slight bit of incentive to not neglect the public area so much as I've maybe done previously because I nothing to safely talk about under the umbrella of war...
"I have just thought that American army had experiments of using LSD as a weapon."
Ah, you've been thinking of something completely else than I did...
You know, these days it's become a fashion again, to throw the whole factual background of LGBT (I hate to use this acronym, but it's the shortes way possible to name that topic) into one and the same pot as American expressionistic culture, and because of disliking the latter, to also dislike the first and talk it to be some kind of "mental confusion".
I dislike to watch this happening in the Russian-speaking sphere here, so that's why it's always best to point out the differentiation. Maybe, if someone gets to hear it, he'll also get the difference between the two. At least that's my hope...
"And if we look on USA in that angle when simple question is rising – who is weakening and stealing from USA right now?"
Hm, I think that question can actually be very solidly answered.
It's the Buffets, the Soros - all that rich scum which does nothing but invest and pull money out of objects and that for several decades already. People who do the same every day and for which there is no ordinary old age pension inside their heads. People who still shift and acquire money when they're 90 like they'd be as poor as a church mouse, but in fact they're billionaires and they could take nothing of their wealth into the soon-calling grave with them.
Where all of the riches stolen will go to on this planet, when the US will collpase?
Well, that's a question that other people already asked too...
Since the US doesn't really collect "friendly nations", but always only conquers them... This will all vanish as escape options if the Us empire itself collapses.
And the rest of the world which always got to feel the hostility of US politics - well, don't expect them to be happy to take in American billionaires, if they've got to flee their country...
So, well, no-one's found an answer to that previously.
(But it might also be due to the fact that many just simply hope the US won't fall.)

Date: 11 August 2022 06:34 am (UTC)I do not divide LGBT western shit from putting youngsters on drug, from demanding force parents to let brain wash their children to do operation to change gender and so on and on – all these are the mechanisms to reduce population and in other words to kill as much as possible…
It is uncalled war against humanity and all the people of free world should get up against it!

Date: 11 August 2022 09:35 am (UTC)One thing is the Americanized cult and activist scene (those are the ones waving with the letter acronyms 24/7, constantly creating new ones), a thing completely seperate and independent from it is being gay yourself or being transsexual.
One of those two things doesn't automatically cause the other.
If it does, then this is a connection that you learn. It's not part of anyone's natural design.
It's hard to make that differentiation today because the mindset of American activists and American expressionistic LGBT culture is everywhere around the planet, but - it truly is like that. Gays and trannies have existed way before the American way of handling it.
I don't know if it's just me, because I can't identify with this umbrella (I think it's much too childish in so many ways), because I have a preference for the guys who operate big machines and guns, who got power in their hands to destoy and take life, not obsess about sex all day long, which don't appear in that scene in the way I like them.
But I think, there must be others out there which are like me, which don't feel covered and expressed by this circus of clowns, and who are also critical of some shit this scene emits into the open air, selling it as "science", while it qualifies as "social sciences" at best, if at all (and social sciences are always debatable).
I've never taken drugs in my life and have no interest to do so. Neither would I propagate or advertise it to anyone. (I don't even drink.) Even the more, I'd say conscious perception is my "drug" - experiencing everything with your senses not blurred.
Yet, if just speaking soberly and judging from the factual matter, I am some of the letters in the acronym myself.
(no subject)
Date: 11 August 2022 10:38 am (UTC)So, yes, you could be against drugs, you could be sober as never and anyway the collective west rulers will try to find a place for you in their criminal activity directed against humanity...

This is what I was thinking about – these, let’s say Soros like rich bastards couldn’t destroy last platform where they are living with their own children, they need to keep money, real knowledge and morality somewhere… Just imagine that hundreds of years ago some Tsar, which is fighting with all the neighbors because his lands are fertile and his folks are strong and healthy will start poisoning his own population? What will happens with him and with his relatives very soon — ... ? Best example I could rise now is our last Russian Tsar which had played too long with modern at those times ideas ( he even thought of stopping military race :))) ) while against Russia were used very concrete and old technologies to destroy it...

Date: 11 August 2022 09:05 am (UTC)But can logic apply to American billionaires? (Or people made their billions in the American economic sphere?)
This would be a thing to question, in my view.
Well... and otherwise, maybe they all already made the "masterplan" to split the US into their economic zones of influence to squish the last little bit of money out of the populace and to undermine an own sphere of executive power, becoming a little king themselves over some territory. - Just like could be seen in many dystopian movies.
Who knows...

Date: 11 August 2022 10:16 am (UTC)I am sure there is the deadly logic in all what is going on at the Western hemisphere.
What is about the American billionaires logic then, again I think they are quite logical guys because you couldn’t made money if you do not act according to some logic. Yes, the American printer which has got out of control is making money making things less difficult but anyway there is always small glimpse of competition… it is much more easy to be illogical being a poet, painter, singer but people which are working with real things like finance, industries, building business demand to be sane.

Yes, that is my question – why to ruin such perfect territory as USA is and to flee to some small one area as Australia or New Zealand? Who knows, maybe the authorities of USA know something like Edgar Cayce prediction that USA soon will suffer from some ecological disaster or something but again, then what for was to print so much money and borrow the resources from around the world to build so many high scrapers, plants, roads, bridges at USA? Strange…
Look on China how their authorities are fighting hard for morality and against all the worst for mankind as the drugs addiction, for example...

Date: 11 August 2022 11:21 am (UTC)Yes, people like Buffet who have been around like forever, they have some sort of strong sense how to act in this business in order to be successful and achieve their goals - but, there's also a different side to that: Americans, in general, seem to be intellectually really educated in just one area, that's where they are a master, and in other areas they're like a dancer with two left feet.
It's not like education from communist systems which emphasized an extensive common knowledge in everyone.
The older American investors like Buffet - hm, maybe they still know different times and have a different degree of education. Not this modern style that keeps them stupid (which people like him even helped fostering).
But, I find, that's pretty hard to calculate.
One can be wrong, but one could also be right.

Date: 11 August 2022 06:27 am (UTC)Yes, I saw it here in Russia in nineties when Russia has been artificially plunged into addiction of all the types — first youngsters are using weeds and then inevitably they start to use amphetamines to speed up their ruined brains and when they are under amphetamines they are slowing down with consuming huge amount of alcohol and guess what comes next? )) Really hard drugs like mephedrone, heroin, LSD and others… so, it is a matter of time. When youngster is starting to use on a regular basis any drug it will inevitably will ruin his life and the life of his relatives. And when authorities are letting that be it is clear glimpse that your authorities are working not for good for your country or for your society but for somebody else, interesting to kill as many as possible of your citizens, to steal as much as possible…

Date: 11 August 2022 09:13 am (UTC)The state even is too stingy to invest in simple quality school education for its own children to create its own "skilled workers"; rather they lure foreigners into the country who have already been educated and the costs paid by another country's budget.

Date: 11 August 2022 10:24 am (UTC)No, it is not. You have just make it illegal to sell drugs and give police the opportunity to put in jail anybody producing and selling drugs…
Look on the last example as Philippines started to fight the drugs consumption and how fast The West has answered to condemn this work. The president of Philippines had even answered called the president of USA – Son of a bitch! )))
You could say that collective West is for human rights and couldn’t make such a terrible thing to divide people on right citizens and wrong citizens but it is a lie – the collective West has recently easily has divided people on right and wrong with letting steal money from Russians living and earning at Europe, now European officials want to send back all Russians and forbid Russians to visit Europe! So, no, again there are strict logic in Western actions and all is working well but the direction of movement is strange – collective west is moving to hell!
